Beginning in September, our Sunday School program will have a new look and feel and we’re excited about it! We will implement a rotational education program for children grades 1-6. Our theme will be "Trusting God". There will be 5 units for the year, including:

Unit 1: David and Goliath
Unit 2: Jesus' Birth (3 weeks of lessons and 3 weeks on Christmas Pageant Prep)
Unit 3: Psalm 23
Unit 4: The Beautitudes
Unit 5: Doubting Thomas

Each unit will include several rotating stations (ie: storytelling, service, science, games, art, drama and "flex") Students will hear the same lessons with a different activity throughout the 6-week unit. A special area will be Unit 2, which will have 3 Sundays of lessons about Jesus’ birth, followed by 3 Sundays preparing for the Children’s Christmas Pageant.

In addition to the lessons, there will be a gathering time for all students in the Family Life Center from 9:30 til 9:45.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
In addition to the traditional Sunday School Teacher that serves for the entire 9-month cycle, we will be RECRUITING FOR THE C+R+O+S+S (Calvary’s Rotational Opportunities for Sunday School) For example, a teacher could sign up for the "David and Goliath" Unit and teach that lesson using art, or science for 6 weeks. Each week the teacher would have a different age group! So, the core lesson would stay the same, but the learning experience would be geared to that age group!
The opportunity now is to sign up for one (or more) 6-week units OR to be a shepherd. A shepherd would always be with their class and continue with them throughout the school year.

FYI: 4-year-olds through Kindergarten will continue with traditional Sunday School classes.
